Thank you, thank you, thank you for the BodipHier! I finally took the plunge
and tried it. I now have the wash and wear hair I was looking for without the
pain and anguish of the Wave Noveau process. My hair looks healthy and shiny.
This was easier than the Naturalaxer. I must order more product because I
simply cannot be without the BodipHier.
Thanks again,
Vicky
Hair Coloring
When deciding on a new look, there are several options such as using a hair straightener or
relaxer, or adding color, or maybe both. If a color change is on your mind then there are
several techniques you can use
- Permanent Color changes your natural hair color. Hair color is a product of two proteins,
eumelanin, which is responsible for hair shades from black to brown, and phaeomelanin, which is
responsible for red and yellow-ish colors. Absence of pigment produces white or gray hair. The
melanin type and granule size determine the color of hair, while the density of distribution of
these pigment granules determines how light or dark the hair is. To change the pigment the
Permanent Color washes use a mixture of peroxide and ammonia. The mixture opens up (or lifts)
the cuticles at the base of the hair allowing the new color to attach to the hair shaft. New
hair will grow with your natural color and leave a line between the old and new color. Treatment
will be needed every four to six weeks to eliminate these roots.
- Demi-Permanent Color uses less peroxide thereby lessening the lift and little or
no ammonia. The color gradually fades back to your natural color in about six weeks. Due to the
gradual fade of the color there is no visible line of demarcation - no roots.
- Semi-Permanent Color adds hair color without dramatically changing the natural
color. These can last up to four weeks and are often used to vary a tone with natural highlights
or make the hair darker. They do not contain any ammonia and the hair color will fade naturally
so eliminating any regrowth demarcation problems.
- Temporary Color, often called a Color Rinse. These are usually
"fun" colors and are designed to last from one shampoo to the next. Instead of lifting the hair to
apply the color, it is just applied to the outside of the hair shaft. These are often vegetable based
and can sometimes be used as a stain to cut down unwanted tones.
